Regenerative Discharger 4S On-Road

Regenerative battery discharger performance matters most in 1/8 On-Road racing. Therefore, this 4S On-Road (or 2 x 2S) Version 2 targets maximum battery output. Moreover, it delivers about 50% more power than the 4S Off-Road version. Consequently, you can cycle harder and keep consistency across long mains.

However, many resistor banks steal an output and add heat. Instead, this regenerative approach recovers energy during discharge and reuses it for charging. As a result, you gain speed, runtime consistency, and better pack control.

Compatibility and race-day flexibility

First, RC Discharger built this unit to integrate with popular chargers. Specifically, it supports all Junsi iCharger models listed below, plus the ToolkitRC M8D. Consequently, you can keep your current charger and upgrade your battery program.

  • Wide iCharger support: 456DUO, 458DUO, 4512DUO, 406DUO, 308DUO, 4010DUO, DX6, DX8, DX12, S6, X6, X8, X12.
  • Two-pack workflow: Additionally, cycle, discharge, and/or charge two 2S packs at once up to 45A using both DUO outputs.
  • Synchronous mode power: Furthermore, use iCharger DUO synchronous mode to discharge a 2S pack up to 70A.

Lower internal resistance and longer pack life

Next, focus on what wins races: lower internal resistance and repeatable voltage under load. In particular, strong cycle currents at 30A, 32A, 40A, 45A, 50A, and 70A help reduce internal resistance. Therefore, your packs punch harder off the corner and fade less late in the run.

Meanwhile, the all-in-one layout keeps wiring short and tidy. Consequently, your pit space stays clean and your routine stays fast. Also, you can skip disconnecting resistor banks after discharge. Instead, run Cycle mode on iCharger S6, X6, X8, or X12 and keep moving.

First, use only the Cycle mode for automated discharge then charge. Second, switch to Storage mode at day end to protect cells. Additionally, dedicate one battery per car for consistent balance. Finally, avoid running your charger Discharge mode several times in a row.
