Then a fellow racer gave Rodolphe a simple challenge at the local track. He said, “You should build something better.” Consequently, that push sparked the first prototypes.

From resistor banks to a smarter routine

Next, Rodolphe built a resistor bank inside a protective enclosure. Therefore, he created one unit that traveled easily. Additionally, the enclosure improved safety and saved space.

However, track testing revealed a bigger issue in the common setup. After Rodolphe bought an iCharger 406DUO in 2017, he paired it with the enclosed bank. Then he noticed the workflow bottleneck right away.

Specifically, he asked one key question: why waste a full charger output on a discharge bank? As a result, he pursued a dedicated unit that ran alongside the charger. In fact, that thinking created the regenerative concept.

Why regeneration changed pit efficiency

Moreover, regeneration moves energy in a smarter way than dumping it as heat. For example, the idea mirrors regenerative braking energy recovery. Consequently, racers gain a more efficient and race-friendly routine.

Therefore, we relaunched with a second-generation model for real pits. We made it smaller, stronger, and more reliable under load. In addition, we refined the details that matter on race day.
